Link building tactics is very important for getting your website rank in search results for your targeted keyword. But at the same time it is one of the most sensible things to be considered.
In this article i write top 20 link building tactics that you should not do. Many people (SEO Beginners) go wrong while doing SEO. Here is the list that you should always think before starting your link building. It is always better to have one good link rather than having thousands of spammy links.
1. Do not use same color text on same color background
2. Do not hide text over an image
3. Do not hide text with CSS
4. Do not link keywords with supper small text
5. Do not Link keywords with small characters like periods or commas
6. Do not Use the Meta Keywords tag
7. Do not Use your Title Tag as a place for solely keywords
8. Do not Overdo your meta description with your keywords
9. Do not Rename your images to the maximum number of characters with keywords
10. Do not List a large number of cities you provide services for when you really don't
11. Do not Worry at all about keyword density
12. Do not Do any Reciprocal Linking / Link Farms / Link Exchanges (unless it's a real business relationship)
13. Do not Forum/comment spam (but feel free to make legit contributions!)
14. Do not Submit to thousands of directories with an automated program
15. Do not Publish a new page for every single keyword you're targeting
16. Do not Create a ton of Google Places pages that all have the same address listed
17. Do not Be rude to customers in the hopes of getting negative reviews / backlinks
18. Do not Measure your sites success with simply PageRank
19. Do not Target keywords simply because your competitors are doing it too
20. Do not Submit to thousands of search engines automatically
